Promoting the culture of sports
Gujarat Giants franchise began its journey in 2017 with a vision to champion the spirit of sports and inspire the next generation of athletes. Since then, the franchise has grown into a multi-sport powerhouse, roaring across kabaddi mats, cricket pitches, and boxing rings, always driven by the belief that sports build character, community, and champions.
With the battle “Garjega Gujarat”, the team made an immediate impact in the Pro Kabaddi League, reaching the finals in its debut season (2017) and repeating the feat in 2018, establishing itself as one of the fiercest and most consistent teams in the league.
The Giants also made a strong statement on the global cricket stage through Gulf Giants in the ILT20 League. Coached by World Cup-winning coach Andy Flower, the team was crowned champions in the inaugural edition. More than just chasing titles, Gulf Giants also stood out for nurturing young talent from emerging cricket nations, giving players like Aayan Khan (UAE) and Dipendra Airee (Nepal) the platform to shine on an international stage.
In 2023, the franchise expanded into women’s cricket by becoming a founding team in the Women’s Premier League (WPL). 2025 was the year for our Shernis, where the team made it to the eliminator, led by Ashleigh Gardner. With a mix of seasoned stars like Beth Mooney and Harleen Deol, and promising youngsters such as Kashvee Gautam, Priya Mishra, and Phoebe Litchfield, the team reflects the franchise's commitment to building from the grassroots and investing in future icons.
Across leagues, Gujarat Giants remains committed to promoting the culture of sports, celebrating every athlete’s journey, and giving fans moments to roar for. With every match, we move one step closer to building a legacy of excellence that transcends results, because being a Giant means making a difference that lasts.
