Born on 16th October 1995 in Haryana, Amit Panghal is an Indian amateur boxer from Rohtak who serves Indian Army as a junior commissioned officer. Amit belongs to a small village Mayna and encouraged by his elder brother to go for boxing.
He is the first Indian male boxer to win a world boxing championships silver medal and the former world No. 1 in International Boxing Associations (AIBA) 52 Kg category.
In 2022, he won silver at the Thailand Open International Boxing Tournament. He was a silver medalist at the 2021 Asian Amateur Boxing Championship and also represented India at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics
